Thread Lift

A face does not fall straight down. It slides along predictable vectors, and the reason a thread lift either looks natural or looks obviously done is whether the threads follow those vectors or fight them. This is a hand skill more than a device, which is why the same product gives such different results in different clinics.
We plan the lift with you sitting upright, because gravity is the whole point. Marking is done on a seated face, and we show you in the mirror where the tissue will move before anything is placed. If what you want is volume rather than repositioning, filler is the better answer and we will change the plan there and then.
The procedure runs under local anaesthetic and takes about an hour. Threads are introduced through small entry points near the temple or in the hairline, passed along the planned vector, and drawn to reposition the tissue. You are awake throughout and will see the change before you leave.
The first week is the trade. Expect swelling, some bruising near the entry points, and a tight, slightly odd sensation when you open wide or smile broadly. We ask you to sleep on your back, avoid dental work and vigorous exercise, and eat soft food for a few days. By day seven most patients are socially comfortable; the fully settled result appears around week four.
Threads absorb over six to twelve months, but the collagen laid down along their path outlasts them, so the result fades gradually rather than dropping. Most patients repeat at twelve to eighteen months. We will tell you when a lift is no longer the right instrument and a different approach would serve you better.
