Focused Ultrasound Lifting

Focused ultrasound works by putting heat exactly where it is useful and nowhere else. Energy passes through the surface without affecting it and converges at a chosen depth, where the temperature briefly rises high enough to create small coagulation points. The tissue then contracts around them and lays down collagen over the following months.
The clinically important variable is depth, and the reason results differ so much between clinics is whether the operator changes it. We treat at three depths in one session — the deep fibrous layer for lift, the mid dermis for firmness, and a superficial pass along the jawline for definition — rather than running one cartridge across the whole face.
Treatment takes about an hour and is felt as brief pulses of deep heat along the bone line. Most patients describe it as uncomfortable in short bursts rather than painful, and we work in short blocks with breaks. There is no visible downtime; you can go back to work directly afterwards, occasionally with slight redness or tenderness to the touch for a day or two.
You will see a modest immediate tightening from tissue contraction, then very little for a month, then a steady improvement that peaks around three months. We photograph at the same angle before treatment and at the three-month review, which is the only fair comparison.
This treats laxity, not volume loss, and it has a ceiling. If the tissue has descended past what energy can reposition, we will say so at the consultation and discuss a surgical referral instead of taking the booking.
